These little balls are incredibly satisfying for a sweet craving. They’re nice and rich, chocolatey, and the best part? They’re super healthy. Hemp is one of the most dense plant sources of protein, omega-3s and fibre while peanut butter is high in healthy fats as well as potassium.
And Tahini! It is a marvellous thing – rich in potassium, magnesium, and it’s one of the best sources of calcium out there. Tahini is super high in alkaline minerals, which aid in weight loss, and high in vitamin E so it’s good for your skin and hair. It also helps to detoxify the liver, thanks to the amino acid methionine.
So you don’t need to feel guilty about eating these chocolatey treats. They contain minimal sugar (honey) and they’re packed with protein, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals.
A nice option is to place a berry or nut in the middle of each ball when forming the dough. Blueberries and raspberries work great, as do almonds, macadamia nuts, hazelnuts, or small Brazil nuts.
Cocoa Tahini Hemp Balls

1 Tbsp raw honey
1 ½ Tbsp cocoa powder
2 Tbsp hemp protein powder
1 tsp cinnamon
coconut flakes, ground*
*Sesame seeds or ground nuts work well as a coating too!
Mix everything together in a bowl, except for the coconut, until it forms a nice dough. Roll into balls and then coat in coconut. Place in a container and freeze for at least an hour. Store in the freezer.
