Okay here we go, the easiest ice cream in the world – dairy free, gluten free, vegan, etc…. AND you only need one ingredient: bananas!
There is something about frozen bananas that when you blend them up in a food processor, they take on the form and texture of ice cream. This is truly an amazing phenomenon.
So next time you want a healthy, dairy-free version of ice cream at home, and you don’t want to wait for it (no ice cream maker required), try this:
Start with ripe bananas that have been sliced into coins and frozen.
Place them into a food processor and blend, pushing them down from the sides until it starts to turn into a creamy ice cream texture.
It will, just keep blending. That’s it!
-pictured here is banana chocolate chip (just add chopped chocolate or chocolate chips)
-add blueberries and coconut chips (I tried this immediately after the chocolate chip version and it was even better!)
-honey & nuts
-peanut/almond butter chocolate chip
